Well March is upon us, the days are noticeably shorter and the mornings darker. Got some news today, after 5 months waiting my garage is due for delivery tomorrow. This has been one of the single most frustrating things that I have ever encountered. But its here just in time for the last of the fine weather. I cant wait to get this building up, and get my benches and tools and shit sorted out. I've got a Ducati F1 to finish off, and a very late model R Nine T to get underway, so once its up I'm back into the work. cant wait. All I have to do now is arrange for a few of my mates to come give me a hand, it should be ok. Well the MotoGP season has kicked off with a bang, can't believe the speeds 652.5 Kph!!!!!! and that's on quite a short straight. Unbelievable really. It's going to take a few races to sort out who is who with regards to bikes and color schemes, but it is fast. Got a big lizard ride coming up in a few weeks, looking forward to catching up with old mates again before the rain sets in. The Guzzi is up and running, with a few minor teething issues, but I am sure that it will be OK.  I overfilled the engine ( filled filter first), so it blew a bit of oil out of the collector box, apart from that its ok. I do have a slight whirring noise coming from the engine, but I'll just keep my ear on that. The oil I took out of the bike was absolutely mint, not 1 small metal shaving to be seen, so that's quite promising. Vince Burrell from Guzzi cafe has certainly done a great job The Diavel is gone, someone paid $12K for it, I hope that they realise the gearbox is a bit suss on it. That means the engine out and apart and that's not cheap. So here I am, sitting waiting for the garage to arrive, so what better way to pass the time than to get this installment out to you all. Enjoy.

I think these pads are a bit soft

These used to be everywhere in London back in the 80's. Where are they now?

Sometimes it's alright for men to dance.

One of the prettiest Guzzi I have seen for a while.

I know, I post a lot of images of this model Ducati, but why not, it's a stunner.

A great barn find, the results above from the image below

Conceived in Italy, born in New Zealand. A Cobas replica that will soon be tearing up the tracks here in NZ. Just stunning.

There's not too many bikes out of Japan that are 'right', this one is in spades.

I know a few people who could do with this beer

Here's that Cobas again, but this time in m id build.

It powered many people around and from this an awful lot of people are still riding today.

The DNA is strong in this line of Hondas

So that's this blog done. Hope you all enjoyed it. Oh the garage is here, it goes up next week, all I need is some mates to help me....hello, no they've gone haha

  1. Nice to see you back at it. Funny elevator pic, I actually did that with a 400-4 getting it up to my 2nd floor flat in a Victorian apartment building in Seattle in the 80s. Good times

    1. A guy in the UK. Jules Boag used to live in a London Tower block.... he also ran a Top Fuel bike. He used to dis-assemble it after every meeting and take it up to his flat...then each meeting bring it back down and re-assemble. nNeedless to say he was always late and it never ran very well. Rumour has it he also did medical drug trials to fund it! A different human being.

  3. Awesome set today Grant. You are right about all the RD350s in London back in the day. I think most of them ended up nicked then crashed on Chelsea Bridge.
I had an RD500LC much nicer, dream machine paint in Gauloise racing team colours.
