Well G'day, again I seem to start the blog with an apology and usually for my own slackness at actually getting it out there, but hey you know, that happens. Anyways here it is again and the images are in no particular order. Normally I edit the position to keep everyone's attentions up, but you'll see when you dive in. Just been away on a great Lizard ride. Lots to drink, some great food, good music, great quiz, and some very nice roads to ride in great warm autumn weather. All in all a good 1600 K's of fun with my mates. Took my Guzzi and it behaved itself to a certain degree. I took a wrong turn out the middle of the Wairarapa and as I was scooting along I blew the muffler off of it. I go back to see this smoldering piece of metal lying in the road. All I can hear is the ticking of the bike and a couple of Magpies long off in the distance. It's pretty much silence. I look around, there's a shearing shed way down the road up on the side of a hill that hasn't been painted in 40 years, there's actually a slight heat haze shimmering up from the road. Pretty much isolation central. Then I turn around and not 20 feet from me is a grown over sign John Marshall engineer. I take a breath, and smile, looked up and thanked the Gods of Italian motorcycles. Wander up the drive and am greeted by a pretty young lady who gets her husband and next minute I'm lying on the road bolting my muffler back on and away. As I said I love the way this country just keeps on giving. I mean 100 meters up the road, or down the road for that matter and I really dont know what I would have done. As it turns out I rechecked the muffler in Dannevirke , then again in Bayview, then in Taupo, and I blew it off as I turned into the drive at home. So the Italian motorcycle gods were smiling on me. Big thanks to Vince Burrell from Guzzi cafe, the engine is exactly what I wanted, solid reliable and it started every time and sat there ticking over calm as anything. So you Guzzi guys here in NZ, use Vince, he knows his stuff. Shameless plug over, now get on and check out the blog.
The T3 in martinborough, while I wait for the Lizards to arrive. A very pleasant day with a Tuatara hazy pale ale to cleanse the throat.
I've got tyhis back up for sale next week, make me an offer and lets see where it goes
I love this Guzzi
Love the start of the season when all the new color schemes come out
I'll leave this one right there
I find images like this quite calming, there's a peacefulness in shots like this
The best color scheme this season
Above and below, when you see them together, they are very very close in style and design
Look for it on You Tube, epic race
Isn't it funny how things come up. Just in the last day or so, we picked up one of these in about the same condition, this one might just be a bit better ( the engine is in it).
And just a couple of images from the weekend.
Great to be part of the moto spirit.Glad to see Reno with Jimmys bike. And some others I recognized.
