Hey hey Champions, a bit of a late starter here. I was away over the weekend celebrating my birthday with my friends down in Wellington. Had a great time, went to an old favourite restaurant of mine The Boulcott Bistro, right nice it was. Spent an evening at my mate Haydn's place, which was really good, always great to catch up. So spent a fair bit of time on the road ( no bikes just a nice warm truck). Noticed a lot of bikes riding around, whether this was DGR or not I am not too sure. A shit load of BMW's and while in Otaki a Harley Davidson electric bike whispered through as well. I had to laugh a bit because they only have a range of 140 odd k, so thought " he hasn't come very far, or doesn't have very far to go". Have to say though, it looked bloody good. As to it's usefulness as a motorcycle it doesn't appeal to me. I can see it being used in the city, if you were in the burbs and needed to get to a coffee shop quick, or to work, but the range just isn't there, so I'll leave that bike for others that might see a need for it. I heard they were $50K as well!!!!! That just doesn't make sense to me. I'd say it would be an ultimate posing motorcycle, and there might be inner city people that that appeals to, but not me. So the Diavel is all finished and ready to ride, still haven't quite got to the bottom of the gear change, but no having a workshop at present, that little issue will have to wait. Speaking of which, my workshop has turned into a very long and drawn out project. managed to get Resource consent, had the Geo tech done, had the engineers do the work required for a retaining wall, had the engineers measure the height of the power lines ( have to be 7.5 meters under them), and now it turns out that the power company says that i have to be 8 meters away from the poles. This entailed a few days of waiting for the electrical engineer to provide the specification that says that i don't need to be more than 8 meters way, but only 2.2. So back to the power company and I am now waiting for them to go "Hmmm, it would seem that this is infact right". So while I am waiting, the retaining wall contractor gets busy, so he is now 6 weeks away from starting, I still have to lodge the building consent for the garage, so that's another 20 days minimum, and it now looks like the garage wont be built until August. I've spent $15K to date to still have a back lawn with no garage. I have pulled what hair I had out, and am in complete despair over the entire process, and to think I used to do this for a job!!!!!! But, and there is always a but, I know that I WILL have a garage and I know that it WILL be built. I don't know how this country of ours ever gets anything done. Just as well the blog gets done as near as possible to every week eh? So onwards and enjoy.

P love places like this. happiness in every doorway

Big party at my place a few years back.

I recall my first ride in one of these, what brutes they were

Pretty lil Guzzi

I wonder what the hell happened there

You can see the DNA of the 916 here

For scale a human standing beside this would come about a third of the way up from the ground.

Lust

This looks like a whole lot of power band fun

A very very clean example of the Ducati. I like these, as if you didn't know.

Still one of the best bikes ever made.

What a great shot of the great man. Will this be his last year?

Buster Saunders, an Aussi racer in the 80's. Don't let his size get to you, he was a hard bastard who rode the wheels off of anything.

Sex on wheels.

Some rather large bevels being worked on here.

Well that's all for this week, hope you enjoyed it, see you all somewhere out there. I've got a lizard ride this weekend to celebrate a birthday or two, so you never know.
